FUNDRAISING
Christina Noble Foundation
As you all propably know we are now fundraising on an on going basis for the Intensive Monitoring Unit (IMU) at the Christina Noble Children's Medical Centre in Ho Chi Minh. It cares for seriously ill or handicapped babies who have been orphaned, abandoned or whose families cannot afford treatment for them. They have a 95% survival rate. Those children who come from orphanages outside Ho Chi Minh have to be sent back once they are fit and healthy. However staff travel at least once a year to check on their progress. At the moment this accounts for over 2,000 children. Those who go back to their families are only returned when the whole family has been helped and are now in position where they can continue to care for the child at home. This is usually done by helping them to set up a small business or training them in some way so that they can financially care for their children. All money raised by us will go to the Unit.
